Did you know that you can turn off your body’s thirst signals?
Your body is exceedingly intelligent. And, just like any mom would get tired of repeatedly telling her kids to take the items upstairs that she placed on the bottom steps (hypothetically, of course) and either force the issue or stop mentioning it, your body will do the same.
If you repeatedly ignore your body’s signals of thirst, it will stop telling you that it is thirsty.
(which is why you don’t FEEL thirsty, even if you clearly haven’t had enough)
Until your body, like mom’s sanity, reaches a breaking point and snaps. Just like mom starts getting irritable, so does your body – flaring up with aches and pains, muscle knots and cramps, digestive issues, fatigue, headaches, flaky skin, kidney stones, and more.
I can’t tell you the number of people that I’ve worked with who actually start CRAVING more water once they start drinking more. They are shocked… but really, they are just allowing their body to communicate in a healthier way because they are listening to what it is saying.
With 75% of Americans being chronically dehydrated, odds are that you could use a drink of water right now.
So go take a drink of water (yes, right now – if you are on your phone or computer, you have time to drink some water!)
